About
Message From Mercury is a 5-piece rock band formed in 2023 by Florida native Christopher Martinez (lead guitar) and Louisiana native Ash Morgan (lead vocals) following the dissolution of an earlier project. With Christopher's brother Matthew on drums and Ash's long-time friend Rachel Brocato just having picked up the bass, the four formed the first iteration of Message From Mercury. They began practicing alternative and soft rock covers in Christopher's grandmother's garage and adopted their name. After just a few months, they eventually performed their first show supporting a local country artist at a country-themed college bar in Monroe, LA on September 29, 2023.
After about a year, seeking a broader sound and greater songwriting potential, the band sought out a second guitarist. They eventually met Ava Barnes in early 2024, a former lead guitarist and vocalist for a disbanded regional rock band. She debuted as Message's second guitarist on December 31, 2024.
Ava, having contributed much to Message's live sound during her time in the group, departed peacefully about a year later to focus on her education and other projects. Alex Maldonado, a long-time friend of Christopher's, was invited to fill the space that was left, debuting live on December 20, 2025.
Message is currently writing music and making their voices heard throughout the region through dramatic and intense live shows.

Alabaster
I needed you but you weren't there
I called your name into empty air
The letters run smooth as alabaster
Your perfect smile a shadow now
Your memory pursues me somehow
Your skin was smooth as alabaster
So run away
Cause I know now what you do
I'm done playing your games
I'm done playing your fool
Oh, alabaster
I wanted you to need me
Could've been love, but you love to bleed me
The blood flowed smooth as alabaster
Your laugh, your walk, your practiced lines
I should have seen the warning signs
Your lies drift smooth as alabaster
So run away
Cause I know now what you do
I'm done playing your games
I'm done playing your fool
Oh, alabaster
Alabaster
Alabaster
Hard to forget the hurt you caused
They say I need to move on
But everything about you was alabaster
